A Family coat of arms expresses the ideals of one's ancestors. A family feels proud of its ancient heraldry and is happy to display it.

 

     The Children of Mary Immaculate also have their "family" coat of arms, which came from heaven: the Miraculous Medal, brought by the Immaculate Virgin to St. Catherine Laboure in 1830.

 

     It is our insignia.

 

     We shall never meditate enough our medal, a veritable summary of our religion.

 

     Let us not therefore wear it as vulgar charm, as an amulet against danger.

 

    Our medal is a perpetual reminder of our heavenly Mother, a sure pledge of her love for us, and a token of her protection.

 

     Let us never be without our medal!
