As a preliminary step towards the affiliation of Children of Mary Immaculate, prospective candidates shall first join the ASSOCIATION OF THE MIRACULOUS MEDAL by receiving a Miraculous Medal blessed and imposed canonically according to the Roman Ritual by a priest, and wearing it around the neck.

 

     Prospective candidates must have the following qualifications:

 

• Catholic Baptism

• Confirmation

• First Communion

• Religious Instruction suitable to age and conditions

 

     Thus, without incurring any new obligations, they may gain the indulgences granted to those who have been invested in the Medal. They recommended only to pray frequently and devoutly the Medal's invocation: "O Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee".

 

     With the investiture, they are officially admitted as APPLICANTS FOR COMI / YOUNG JUNIORS, and they become members of the Association of the Miraculous Medal (medal is attached to a pink ribbon).

a. MARY'S ANGELS - children who have already had their first communion and have not yet reached 11 years of age

 

b. APPLICANTS FOR CHILDREN OF MARY IMMACULATE - children who have already had their first communion and have reached 11 years and above.

​

     The ASSOCIATION OF THE CHILDREN OF MARY IMMACULATE is divided in two degrees with these section each:

 

Degree I : AFFILIATES

members on probation period, already enrolled in the Association's registers, but not yet entitled to the privileges (indulgences, etc.) of the full-fledged membership. This degree may include the following sections:

 

a. JUNIORS OF OUR LADY - members of at least 11 to 13 years of age with at most 3 years of active service in the organization (medal is attached to a red ribbon)

 

b. ASPIRANTS - members of at least 14 years of age or more with 4 to 7 years of active service in the organization (medal is attached to a green ribbon)

 

Degree II : ASSOCIATES

full-fledged members enjoying all the privileges of the association, principally the noble title of CHILDREN OF MARY IMMACULATE (medal is attached to a blue ribbon). This degree necessitates at least 8 years of active in the organization and includes the following sections:

 

a. MARIAN LEAGUE - members of 15 to 30 years of age, single

 

b. MARIAN FRIENDS LEAGUE - members of 31 years of age and above, single

 

c. MARIAN HOMES LEAGUE - married couples members
